Interior & Exterior Door Installation
Doors that swing right, close quietly and are trimmed out clean, from French doors to doors hidden in a paneled wall.
Doors get used every day, so they have to be right
A door that rubs, drifts open or has an uneven gap gets noticed every time someone walks through. I hang doors so the gaps are even all the way around, the latch catches cleanly and the casing sits flat to the wall.
That goes for interior pre-hung and slab doors, French and pocket doors, closet doors and exterior entry doors, plus specialty work like the hidden door in a shiplap wall in my portfolio.

Every kind of door, hung right
Every project is quoted to its own scope. Typical work includes:
- Pre-hung interior doors
- Slab doors on existing jambs
- French & double doors
- Pocket doors
- Closet doors
- Exterior entry doors
- Hidden doors in paneled walls
- Casing & hardware
What a well-hung door looks like
Even gaps
Consistent margins on the hinge, latch and head sides, so the door looks centered in its opening.
Smooth swing
Jambs are shimmed plumb and square, so the door stays where you leave it and closes without forcing.
Clean casing
Casing is mitered tight and sits flat to the wall, ready for paint.
From my portfolio
Real job-site photos of my own work, most taken right after install, before caulk and paint.

From walkthrough to final look
Measure
I check the openings, swing direction and hardware.
Prep
The opening is checked for plumb and square, and framing is corrected if needed.
Hang
The door is set, shimmed and fastened, then adjusted for even gaps and a clean latch.
Trim
Casing and hardware go on, then caulk and fill for paint.
Door installation questions
Can you hang new doors in the old jambs?
Often, yes. Slab doors can be fit and mortised to existing jambs. If the jambs are out of square, a pre-hung unit is usually the better route, and I'll tell you which after seeing them.
Can you build a hidden door?
Yes. My portfolio shows a door built into a shiplap wall that disappears when it's closed.
Do you install exterior doors?
Yes, entry and patio doors as part of a finish project. Tell me about the door and the opening when you reach out.
